2016 – A Year in Review

Sing for the King Ministries, a ministry born out of a passion to reach the incarcerated.  A ministry comprised of three individuals sold out to its mission – “to reach the least of these with the Gospel of Jesus Christ through praise and worship, the preaching of God’s Word, and personal testimonies”.

Here’s what God has done in 2016:

Sing for the King Ministries has led over 100 services in prisons, churches, rescue missions, and more.  We have been in 7 prisons in Missouri and have added 4 of those prisons to a regular schedule for 2017 which means we will be in at least 5 prisons on a regular basis.  This is an important part of our prison ministry because once these offenders surrender their lives to Christ we get to see the changes in these men’s lives as they grow in their new relationship with Him.  We want them to succeed when they leave prison, to become Godly men and serve their communities, to reach their families with the Gospel.

Testimonials

“They encouraged and helped strengthen my personal relationship with the Lord. I’m forever grateful that they allow God to use them for “HIS” glory!!!! – Offender E.

These are just a few of the awesome things God is doing through this ministry in prisons.  The Department of Corrections interviewed our team in November to feature our ministry in their 2016 Annual Report.  The publication will be released in June 2017 and we will share it at that time.  We have also been asked to go into more prisons which is a remarkable thing because it is not always easy to obtain access to these institutions.  What a mighty God we serve!

Outside the prison walls our team has been given opportunity to lead several church services, revivals, Celebrate Recovery meetings and events; to participate in conferences, rescue missions and more.  From Relay for Life, the Golden Valley Door of Hope annual fundraiser, Gideon banquets, men and women’s conferences and more…God is opening all kinds of doors to make Himself known to people everywhere and in the process changing our lives.  He has allowed us so many opportunities; Christy has been invited to many events to lead worship – Arkansas at a ladies retreat, North Carolina for a local TV ministry, a Christmas concert at her own church to share the songs she has written this year and more.  We have all shared our stories, how Jesus has changed our lives with the Gospel at prison services and churches.  A lot of people’s lives have been affected by prison, either themselves being incarcerated or a family member and we have had the chance to pray with these precious people.  We have been a part of seeing lives changed outside prison walls with the Gospel as well.  New creations inside and out, He is using us to point others to Him and we are grateful.  There is nothing special about us; we are simply three willing servants of the Almighty God.  Many new and exciting things are on the horizon for 2017, more prisons, homeless shelters, more churches, more lives changed; please pray for this ministry, support us if you can, invite us to your churches and events…help us share the Gospel with a lost and dying world inside and outside prison walls.

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” Luke 4:18-19
